Call for Applications & Nominations

Healthy Dancer Canada seeks individuals who work and/or study within the dance health and wellness sector (including dance artists, teachers and educators, health practitioners, researchers, and students) to join the Board of Directors, Executive, and organising committees for the 2026 and 2026-2027 term.

Positions Available
Board of Directors

• Up to five members-at-large (two year commitment, 2026-2027)
  • Duties:
    • ​Be responsible for the strategic direction (vision, mission, values) and general management of the affairs and business of HDC (operations);
    • Attend quarterly meetings of the Board of Directors in person or via Zoom;
    • Sit on at least one committee.

Executive

• One Vice President / President-elect (four year commitment, 2026-2029)
  
  • Duties: 
    • Assist the President to perform their duties;
    • Following the term as Vice President (one year), be prepared to serve in the role of President (two years) and then Immediate Past President (one year).
• Treasurer (two year commitment, 2026-2027)
  • Duties:
    • ​Maintenance of the books;
    • Receipt and disbursement of all funds and securities.

• One Secretary (two year commitment, 2026-2027)
  • Duties: 
    • Keep copies of bylaws and policies;
    • Keep record of Board meeting minutes, motions and decisions;
    • Sign, amend, and file official documents.

Organizing Committees

• Any number of Members (one year commitment, 2026)

How to apply for a vacant position
Submit your application to [email protected] by November 21, 2025. Only active HDC members can apply (you can join the HDC membership here). The application must contain:

• A one-page resume;
  
• A 200-500word statement on the position you seek (see above) and how you will contribute to HDC’s mission to “empower dancers and all who engage with the art of dance by nurturing a culture of wellness within a vibrant dancing community."

How to nominate someone for a vacant position
Submit your nomination to [email protected] by November 21, 2025. The application must contain:

• The name and contact information of the nominee and position for which they are being nominated (see above);
  
• A paragraph stating why you think they would be suitable for the position.
